To Everyone, As I sit here doing this, with a broken heart and my eyes full of tears, trying to see what I am typing. One of our dear friends passed away last night, - Chuck Thomas. Chuck died last night of a massive heart attack – after a 12 hour shift at the hospital he loved – his co-workers could not save him. There is some comfort knowing that he died doing what he loved most – saving lives. He lived with passion – loved with passion – and will truly be missed by all of the Class of 69 Will let you know of services – talked with Terri & Chuck’s sister Laurel………keep them in your prayers. My heart is breaking…..as I know yours will be. I love you all – and am blessed to be a part of this class. Carol Afanador

This is the update I have: Chuck’s services will be graveside on Wednesday morning at 10 AM at Ross Hill Cemetery 5800 N. Ravenswood, Chicago,Ill. I’m sure we can find a map with the exact location on the internet. This is still so unbelievable…Debbie |

There is a wake planned for Monday and Tuesday from noon to 9PM. His services will be on Wednesday but Terri does not know the time yet. She would like as many of Chuck’s friends as possibly can, to come to his wake and services…saying that Chuck’s friends were always very important to him. Terri also said that it is comforting--helpful to her to talk with his friends so please feel free to call her at home: if you’d like.
I’m not sure I can yet put words to my reaction to Chuck’s passing—he was such a huge part of who we as a class were---it is so very sad. John and he shared the same birthday and they had a tradition of talking (or attempting to) with one another on their shared birthdays—we will miss that tradition dearly.
Chip is going to Chicago Sunday, Chuck’s sisters, brother-in-laws etc. are on their way to Chicago now and Terri has a close friend staying with her. I will pass on any additional information when I have it.
